What you may NOT do
The hard rules. Doing any of these can result in suspension or termination.
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or discriminate against any other user โ based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or any other characteristic.
- Upload sexual, graphic, violent, hateful, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate content. The Platform is a music-education environment.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, qualifications, affiliations, or experience.
- Solicit students or faculty for lessons outside the Platform during your tenure or for 90 days after your last booking.
- Scrape, mass-download, or systematically collect data from the Platform (including via automated scripts, headless browsers, or third-party tools).
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute lesson recordings, lesson notes, sheet music, or any other faculty-uploaded content without explicit consent from both parties.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, paywalls, geographic restrictions, or any other access control.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Platform.
- Use the Platform to conduct any unlawful activity or to violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Send unsolicited messages, spam, marketing, recruiting pitches, or chain letters through the in-portal messaging system.
- Post content that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights โ including unauthorised sheet-music PDFs, copyrighted recordings without licence, or material restricted by performance rights organisations.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions, manipulate ratings, or evade other rules.
- Use the Platform to launder money, finance terrorism, or process payments for prohibited industries (gambling, adult content, weapons, controlled substances).
- Attempt to introduce malware, viruses, ransomware, or any harmful code into the Platform.
- Interfere with another user's lessons or learning experience (e.g. lesson-bombing, deliberate disconnections, hostile messaging).
What you SHOULD do
The positive expectations. Most of these come naturally to good people.
- Show up on time, prepared, and respectful.
- Keep your contact details, Zoom link, and availability current.
- Provide honest, constructive reviews and feedback.
- Communicate proactively if something changes โ illness, technical issues, scheduling conflicts.
- Treat lesson notes and student progress information as private โ for the student's eyes (or their parents'), not for sharing.
- Respect cultural, linguistic, religious, and methodological differences in teaching style.
- Follow the Faculty Code of Conduct if you are a faculty member.
- Report any concerning behaviour โ yours or someone else's โ promptly to info@theglobalconservatory.com.
Reporting abuse
Tell us. We investigate everything. info@theglobalconservatory.com.
If you observe or experience behaviour that violates this Policy, please report it to info@theglobalconservatory.com with:
- A description of what happened and when
- The user(s) involved (name, profile URL, or order number)
- Any supporting evidence (screenshots, transcripts, recording timestamps)
We acknowledge every report within 2 business days and complete investigation within 14 days for most cases. We do not disclose the identity of reporters to the reported party except where legally required. Retaliation against a good-faith reporter is itself a violation of this Policy.
Enforcement
Warning โ suspension โ termination. Serious cases skip straight to termination and possibly law enforcement.
We tier our enforcement based on severity, intent, and history. The general progression:
- Warning โ for first-time minor violations, a written notice with the specific rule cited and an opportunity to correct.
- Temporary suspension โ for repeated or moderate violations, account access paused for a defined period (typically 7โ30 days) while we investigate and the user reflects.
- Permanent termination โ for severe violations (harassment, fraud, IP theft, child-safety breaches, repeat offenders). Accrued payouts may be withheld pending investigation.
- Law-enforcement referral โ for actions that may constitute crimes (sexual exploitation, fraud, threats of violence, money laundering, distribution of child sexual abuse material).
We reserve the right to skip straight to termination โ without warning or suspension โ for any behaviour that poses immediate risk to users, the Platform, or third parties. Account terminations are not refundable beyond what the Refund Policy entitles you to.
Appeals
If we suspend or terminate you, you can appeal in writing within 30 days.
If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal in writing to info@theglobalconservatory.com within 30 days. Include:
- The action being appealed and the date of notice
